Now in their ninth year, Quacquarelli Symonds’ World University Rankings by Subject focuses on 48 academic disciplines. UdeM ranked in 39 of them.
British-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has published its ninth World University Rankings by Subject and Université de Montréal and its affiliated schools, HEC Montréal and Polytechnique Montréal, perform well in several of the fields of study evaluated.
Indeed, UdeM ranks in 39 of the 48 subjects judged. It is among the top 50 universities in the world in the following disciplines: statistics and operational research (32nd), library and information management (40th) and veterinary medicine (46th).
UdeM ranks in the top 51 to 100 universities in a number of other subjects: architecture, modern languages, music, philosophy, theology and religious studies, computer science, anatomy and physiology, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and pharmacology, kinesiology, mathematics, anthropology, business and management, communications and media and politics and international studies.
Overall this year, QS ranked UdeM 6th in Canada and 149th in the world.
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in London, Quacquarelli Symonds has been producing world rankings of higher-education institutions since 2004. It evaluates some 1,000 universities around the world.
